Karen Boswall in 1993 - Composing for television with an Atari computer, an Akai sampler a Korg M1 keyboard and using SYMPTE to combine midi with audio recording on a 14" reel to reel multi-track. An extract from a "The Arts Connection" (ITV 1993) A Television Series for young people introducing them to careers in the Arts. The composer is a 20 year younger me, commissioned to compose the theme music and demonstrate the process throughout the show. I am writing on an Atari computer, sunc to a Fostex 16 track 1/2" reel to reel. The Akai Sampler saves the sounds onto floppy discs (does anyone remember them?) This is the second extract, when I am developing ideas.

The fourth and final part in the Television series "The Arts Connection" broadcast in 1993 where I was commissioned to compose the theme music and demonstrate the process of working to a brief throughout the show. Here I present the final composition. I was working on an Atari computer, using an Akai Sampler and floppy discs. It still sounded OK though!
